In 1973 Gebhard Reusch, the son of the original founder, developed the first goalkeeping glove with a latex palm in conjunction with Sepp Maier the West German National Goalkeeper. One year later, Maier helped his team to lift the World Cup on home soil in Munich, thus becoming the first Reusch endorsee to win a major tournament. Since that day, more goalkeepers have won World Cups and European Championships wearing Reusch gloves, than any other brand in the market. Goalkeeping icons such as David Seaman, Peter Schmeichel, Gianluigi Buffon, Petr Cech and Julio Cesar amongst many others, have all worn the Reusch brand to major success.
