Accrington announce new shirt after enlisting help from the FTD

Accrington Stanley have announced the official launch of their new home shirt after enlisting the help of the Football Trade Directory to find them a new shirt sponsor.

The new home jersey, which goes on sale on Tuesday 24th November 2009, is supplied by Spanish kit supplier Joma and will be worn for the remainder of the 2009/10 season and all of the 2010/11 season.

The Football Trade Directory approached 10 major brands before Stanley opted for Joma, who will also provide leisurewear for the club.

Speaking about the deal, Manging Director Dave O'Neil said:

'‘We had a specific objective which was achieved to a tight deadline. We were very impressed with the way in which Sportsglobal went about the task. Not only did they find us a competitive range of potential suppliers, they guided us through the whole process.

'‘There are many aspects to a kit deal and the orchestrated approach enabled the club to make a balanced choice from some very competitive tenders. We could easily have gone with three or four of the suppliers who all met the brief in terms of delivery, price and quality.

'‘In the final outcome we are delighted to have forged a deal with Joma, which is a well known brand, not just in the UK but around the world.’'

Joma

Joma first came onto the UK scene when they signed Charlton Athletic as a club in 2003. They have since added Championship sides Leicester City and Watford as clubs but Accrington Stanley are the first of Joma’s clubs from the North of England. Joma have quite a presence in Spain including 2006 UEFA Cup winners, Sevilla FC, as their headline club, along with Sevilla FC star Freddie Kanoute as one of their profile players.

The new Joma jersey is priced at £40 for adults and £30 for juniors.  For further information on the kit launch next Tuesday please contact the club on 0871 434 1968.
