Doncaster Rovers Football Club was presented with a cheque for £10,520 from Leeds Building Society at Saturday’s home match against West Bromwich Albion.
The cheque relates to 1 per cent of the total balances in the ‘Donny Rovers Saver Account for 2009’. Therefore the more the supporters save the more money gets paid to the Club and with tiered interest rates, the higher the interest customers will receive on their savings
The account, which is only available through Leeds Building Society and is exclusive to Doncaster Rovers supporters, is now in its sixth season and has generated over £27,000 for the club so far. Saturday’s payment was the highest to date.
Doncaster Rovers Managing Director Stuart Highfield said "We were delighted to welcome representatives from Leeds Building Society to the Keepmoat stadium for our recent home match with West Brom. The Donny Rovers saver is a great account and I would encourage any fans who have not already opened an account to do so as soon as possible.
"The account is now in its sixth season and continues to go from strength to strength. This £10,520 donation is the largest annual affinity payment we have received since the launch of the Donny Rovers Saver. We are now working with Leeds Building Society on new initiatives to ensure that this time next year the large presentation cheque we receive is over £15,000!"
