Chesterfield FC’s brand new b2net stadium at Whittington Moor looks set to boost the local economy when it opens in July with the creation of 130 new jobs.
The Spireites £13million new home is expected to produce new full and part time jobs for matchday staff and catering professionals, with a further 30 community job opportunities when the Midlands Co-Operative Stand becomes fully operational in 2011.
The b2net stadium is set to become North Derbyshire’s most prestigious new entertainment venue with matchday seating for 10,500 supporters and conference and banqueting facilities for up to 300 guests.
Chesterfield FC chief executive Carol Wilby said: "We are aiming to make the b2net stadium the premier venue in North Derbyshire and we will be looking for highly motivated staff who will also share that vision."
Chesterfield MP Paul Holmes said: "The new b2net stadium is absolutely fantastic and I congratulate everyone involved in providing the town with such a wonderful new sporting and entertainment venue that is now also the source of new jobs in our community."
