Premier League’s spend on agents tops £67 million

 

The Premier League has released a statement detailing payments made to agents for each of its twenty football clubs.

The staggering £67,138,040.40 figure relates to 742 transactions made between 1st October 2009 and 30th September 2010, including payments made by clubs on behalf of players, to authorised agents.

The breakdown puts Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the table with fees totaling over £9 million, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur followed with spends of over £5 million and Sunderland racked up £4.4 million in charges.

Newly promoted Blackpool had the lowest spend for the year, submitting a more modest fee of just £45,000.
