Hellenic League side aim to improve stadium

Holyport FC

FTL Futbol Hellenic League Division One East side Holyport FC plan to spend £30,000 on two new stands at its Summerleaze Village ground as it battles to win promotion.

A planning application was lodged by the Blackamoor Lane club, which will not rule out moving to another ground, with the Royal Borough last week.

Club secretary Graham Broom said that the stands, which are needed to meet Football Association ground requirements as it strives for promotion, would bring fans capacity to 200.

Some residents have resented the move to transform the greenbelt land into a football ground.
