Aberdeen FC managing director Duncan Fraser has promised fans an ‘iconic’ stadium with modern facilities on the Scottish Premier League side's proposed Loirston Loch site.
The plans for the stadium, which could cost up to £40 million, have been backed by councilors but still need to clear the planning process. If successful Aberdeen are hoping to create a 21,000 capacity ground to replace current home Pittodrie, where they have played their home games for more than a century. An alternative site of Kings Links was earlier deemed too small and expensive.
Speaking of the plans Fraser commented: “It’s important to keep the next generation supporting their local team.”
