Wolves boosted with double deal

Wolverhampton Wanderers have received a double off the pitch boost by securing a new kit deal and a sponsorship extension.

Existing sponsors Sportingbet.com have signed a seven figure extension which will see them remain as Wolves main club partner, with their distinctive branding on home and away shirts and all training gear, until the end of 2012/2013 season whilst Swiss International Sportswear Manufacturer Burrda will be their new kit suppliers.

Wolves' CEO Jez Moxey, said: "This is a major off-the-pitch achievement for Wolves. The fact that Sportingbet.com - a global, very successful brand - has decided to extend their deal with a full season still to run on their extending contract, is a huge endorsement of our Football Club. It bucks the trend in football, where many Clubs are either struggling to retain their sponsor or to secure one at all.

"Sportingbet.­com has proved to be a fantastic partner over the last season and we're delighted our relationship will continue until, at the very least, the end of the 2012/13 season.

Burrda

Burrda, who supply the Kuwait and Qatar national sides, will produce home and away kits as well as Wolves branded training wear for the next three years. The deal will benefit supporters too as shirt prices will be fixed for the tenth year running. 

The home kit will be unveiled for the first time on Sunday May 9th 2010 at the home clash against Sunderland, with the first team taking to the field for the first time in the new strip.

Jez Moxey, Wolves' chief executive, said: "Burrda are currently new to football in this country but they have a strong international track record across a number of different sports, with plans to further extend their brand into the UK. We've listened to fans' ideas on designs throughout the year and, together with Burrda, we've come up with simple, retro style designs, using state-of-the-art technical material.

"I'm delighted to say that we've been able to freeze next season's kit prices for the tenth year running. We hope our fans will be happy with both the look, and the quality, of the final product.

"The type and size of this deal reflects the global reach of the Premier League. Burrda are a very good fit for our football club, who can also hopefully extend our contacts across Continental Europe and the Middle East. We look forward to enjoying a strong working relationship with Burrda over the next three years."

Burrda's general manager, Charles Diab, added: "We've always planned to enter the UK football market and when the chance came with a club steeped in history as Wolves is, we knew the fit was right. They share our passion to work hard and succeed. We congratulate Mick McCarthy and the team on their success this season and feel confident the timing coincides with the club enjoying an extended stay in the Premier League. Next season will be another big year for the team especially given the number of Midlands derbies we all have to look forward to.
