Ridgeons Premier Division side Wivenhoe Town Football Club has resolved its ongoing dispute with Wivenhoe Sporting Facilities Trust, regarding its use of facilities at Broad Lane.
The trust had locked the club out of the ground earlier this year over claims of rent arrears totaling £10,000. However the club sought a court injunction to get the facilities reopened and a resolution hearing was scheduled to resolve the financial dispute.
For legal reasons the details of the hearing must remain confidential, however it is understood that both parties are happy with the outcome.
In an added boost for the team the site is now set to be transformed into a community facility after a anonymous millionaire resident stepped forward to fund part of the £1.4million redevelopment project.
Nick Murphy Whymark, spokesperson for the club, said: “The future of the club certainly looks bright, and we are all very pleased with the outcome.
“We are also very excited about the developments on the Broad Lane site, which will bring so much to the town of Wivenhoe.”
