Fulham Football Club have become one of the first English Premier League clubs to join a growing global trend of signing a deal with a solar energy company.
The West London club this week announced a two-year agreement with Candian Solar, which sees the company become the club's official energy sponsor. The move follows on from a number of commercial agreements made, particularly in the German Bundesliga where solar companies have become a club's official energy sponsor. Canadian Solar already has tie-ups with top Bundesliga teams Hannover 96 and FC Nuremberg, MLB franchises New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants, NHL team San Jose Sharks and Serie A basketball team Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna.
This is the first energy deal that the business have signed in the English Premier League and is expected to be the first of many such agreements. As part of the deal Candian Solar will receive dedicated marketing, hospitality and advertising privileges. Canadian Solar's logo will be featured at all home games on the digital perimeter advertising system and in other prominent, high visibility areas of the stadium. Canadian Solar will also be featured on the Fulham FC website homepage and other advertising platforms.
"Fulham is delighted to partner with Canadian Solar for the forthcoming seasons," said Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh.
"They are a leading brand in the solar industry that complements and embodies the core values and principles of Fulham. The partnership will, I am sure, be mutually beneficial and we look forward to successful seasons working together."
