Chairman Terry Barratt commented: “We want to welcome fans who do not usually come to Top Field but, given they are not regular attendees, we are prepared to donate to charity half of what these “new fans” pay to get in to watch us. The club is not offering reduced entry as an incentive for these guest fans but is instead using the opportunity to give to a worthy cause.”
Supporters from Premier/Football League clubs/Luton Town will have a designated point of entry to the ground to ensure the club can easily calculate the extent of the charitable donation. The Club is, however, offering free entry to the game with Bashley to the following sections of the community (subject to proof of ID/unemployment:
The unemployed, the Emergency Services, and the Armed Forces and their pre-service cadet units.
The Hitchin Town clubhouse is also joining in on the special day and is offering reduced prices on beer and spirits. The new clubhouse manager, Mr Michael Hills, is hosting a barbecue and live music on the day. All paying customers on the day, including Hitchin Town season ticket holders, will be entered into a prize draw.
