The Lancashire Football Association has tied up a sponsorship deal with Preston-based MWR Solicitors, through the firm’s Funds4Clubs scheme, which supports local community groups and initiatives.
The ‘MWR Solicitors Lancashire FA Under 14 Youth Cup’ kicked off in September 2010 and the final will take place at the County Ground on Thurston Road in Leyland on Friday, March 25. Over 100 teams across Lancashire take part in the Under 14’s cup every season.
The Lancashire Football Association (LFA) is the governing body of football in the County. It is responsible for the governance and development of football across all levels of the game. The LFA also administers 19 County Cup Competitions for adults and youths each year.
Funds4Clubs was launched in 2010 and is aiming to help sporting, social or recreational clubs solve some of their funding problems. The scheme is available to any group including football clubs, cricket clubs, arts and crafts groups, dance groups, school PTAs and brownies.
Jane Booker, partner at MWR Solicitors, said: "As a firm we are committed to supporting our local community and we are very proud to be involved with an organisation like the Lancashire FA, which works tirelessly to bring together amateur sports men and women from right across the county."
Roger De Nobrega, senior football development officer at Lancashire FA, said: "The support of local companies such as MWR Solicitors plays an essential part in the development of clubs across Lancashire. The Funds4Clubs scheme is a great way for grassroots clubs bringing in extra income to support the development of new teams."
