Everton Football Club has agreed a deal with Japanese mobile content firm CWS Brains which will see Toffees fans in Japan get the latest news and videos from the club through a subscription service.
Barclays Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal are amongst those already with CWS, with the company’s ‘Soccer Membership’ platform offering ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers and videos across a number of mobile platforms.
The deal strengthens Everton’s presence in Asia with the Toffee’s already having Chang Beer as its main partner as well as other deals in India and China.
Mark Rowan, head of media and communications at Everton, commented: "We are delighted to have secured a deal with CWS Brains. The Everton fan base is going from strength to strength across Asia and we hope to reach as many supporters as possible using a range of media platforms.
"Mobile media is evolving at quite a pace and this deal demonstrates how we are communicating and engaging with Everton fans across the globe."
CWS Brains currently has a database of over 150,000 customers.
