United agree deal with German giant

Manchester United Football Club has agreed a three year deal with DHL who become the club’s official logistics partner.

The contract with DHL, a division of Deutsche Post - the world's largest logistics group, will see the company handle United’s logistics services as well working with the Manchester United Foundation.

United chief executive David Gill said:  “DHL are a globally recognised organisation and their commitment to excellence and high standards makes them an ideal partner for Manchester United," he said. "I’m delighted to welcome them to our family of sponsors and look forward to the opportunities this partnership will create.”

Commercial director Richard Arnold added: “This deal underlines the continuing global strength of Manchester United. DHL are a like minded global brand with a track record in sports sponsorship and a strong presence in many of our key territories around the world. We're excited at the opportunities this partnership will create for DHL and our fans around the world.”

The deal comes with United rumoured to become the first club to break £100m commercial revenue mark with The Guardian reporting the club’s accounts showed that £24m was generated over the first quarter of the accounting year with the second quarter expected to be just as strong.
