The Scottish Football League has confirmed a one-year deal with high street firm Ramsdens for the Challenge Cup with former sponsor BBC ALBA becoming the SFL’S broadcast partner.
The deal, believed to be worth a six-figure sum, will see the competition named The Ramsdens Cup and builds the firm’s presence in football following its club sponsor deal with npower Championship side Middleborough.
SFL chief executive said: "We will now work together to create excitement and value to one of Scottish football's best-loved competitions.
"BBC ALBA, the Gaelic television channel, will now become the SFL's broadcast partner in a new and exciting relationship."
The SFL also confirmed that Buckie Thistle and Deveronvale, the top two finishing clubs in this year’s Scottish Highland Football League, have been invited to participate in the competition.
