Online sports network Pitchero reaches 250,000 members

Pitchero, the online sports network powering over 4,000 club and league websites, has smashed the million unique user mark and continues to dominate the UK’s online amateur sports market.

Today, the Internet start up launched new branding and an accompanying sales website which it hopes will increase sign ups across its core football, rugby, cricket and hockey markets.

The new website, together with the milestone of reaching 1 million unique users and 250,000 registered members, seals Pitchero’s reputation as the leading free sports website provider in the UK.

Having launched only three years ago, Pitchero has grown rapidly and now powers close to 50% of all UK amateur rugby club websites, making Pitchero one of the biggest online rugby networks in the world.

But football remains Pitchero’s most popular sport and Pitchero continues to dominate the non-league football market with Conference clubs such as Nuneaton Town FC choosing to use the cost-effective freemium service as well as thousands of grass root football clubs.

Pitchero continues to expand within other sports, specifically cricket, hockey and netball by forming links with governing bodies and key stakeholders. The potential in each market is significant with few rivals offering a sports specific solution.

The success of Pitchero has not gone unnoticed. In the last 6 months brands including Nike and RBS have invested 5 figure-advertising budgets on the network looking to engage with Pitchero’s amateur online sports audience, which includes; players, parents, coaches and supporters.

Pitchero’s ultimate goal is to unite the world of semi pro and amateur sports online creating a haven of statistics and amateur sports content. Each club website is linked via sport and competition, creating hundreds of networks based around rival players, clubs and leagues.

The new website offers more case studies and club statistics. The sign up process has been redesigned and new products, including a county platform and features specifically designed for governing bodies, have been added.
