O'Shea makes Boro bid

A consortium led by Tim O’Shea has reportedly made a second bid to buy Farnborough FC.

O’Shea and his business partner Justin Barnes threw their hat into the ring to buy the cash strapped club on Wednesday after new manager Spencer Day confirmed he had loaned the board of directors £900,000 to keep the club afloat.

Day said he was “incredibly reluctant” to take over at the Rushmoor Stadium but revealed the shares would be signed over to him in 28 days if no other parties came on board.

Asked about the new bid from O'Shea, Day said

“A bid has been received from Justin Barnes this afternoon [Wednesday] and that will be taken into consideration by the board of directors like anyother offer would be.”

O'Shea, who captained the side to the Ryman Premier title under Graham Westley back in 2000-01, revealed his desire to invest in the club a fortnight ago.
