Happy faces as club receives prize

Football News 24/7
The weather was kind, and there was a good attendance on hand to witness Hartford FC U15s manager Colin Woodthorpe (left) and some of his team collect a £3,000 windfall for their club.

Colin entered a competition organised by one of the leading football websites - www.footballtradedirectory.com and supported by BRMB Grass Roots Live, Gazelle Sports, Non League Newspaper and Quickplay Sports.

The competition caught the imagination of grass roots football with over 2,000 entries received and the organisers are looking at repeating the idea again next year.

Seen making the presentation to Hartford's Chairman Jonathan Fallows (orange shirt) are from left to right, footballtardedirectory.com's Commercial Manager John Booth, Pravin Parmar managing Director of Gazelle Sports and Peter Deaman a Director of BRMB Grass Roots Live.

Commenting on the award Hartford's Chairman said:

'We are really pleased to have won, the award will be a big help to the club.'

John Booth commenting on the idea said:

'The response from all quarters has been fantastic. We are working very closley with the organisers for BRM Grass Roots Live 2012 which is at the NEC in May, and a repeat of the competition looks on the cards.

'Having presented the award at an U7s Tournament being run by Hartford it is gratifying to see all the youngsters taking delight in their first tournament and that's what grass roots football is all about. Kids enjoying themselves and getting involved in the game we all love at an early age.'

The prize comprises teamwear from Manchester based  Gazelle Sports a leading teamwear proivider in the UK, Sheffield based Quickplay Sports are supplying goal nets and associated equipement and footballtradedirectory.com a cash element. Non League Newspapaer and BRMB Grass Roots Live have been involved in the promotion of the competition throughout the UK.
