League chairman Mark Harris was delighted with the announcement saying:
“To attract a name of the calibre of Doodson Sport is a huge boost to the league and its clubs. With the President’s Cup no longer in action, the League Cup is our club’s sole opportunity for silverware outside of the FA Cup, FA Trophy and county cup competitions. The sponsorship from Doodson Sport will enable us to develop the competition more effectively.
Doodson Sport, which is part of the Doodson Broking Group, was appointed the NPL’s new insurance broker during the summer following a competitive tender process. Doodson Sport provide liability cover including player-to-player as part of their bespoke football insurance cover for member clubs. Other areas include protection of club assets and revenue.
In response to the growing need of the sport community, Doodson Sport provide a unique claims and risk management programme which is an integral part of their service to their sport clients.
