Leyton Orient give Margate FC a lift

Leyton Orient kindly donated match tickets for a charity auction of sporting memorabilia held at Margate Football Club in aid of Thanet Community Networks.

The auction which also included a signed Wolves shirt and a number of signed footballs as well as the star item being a signed Manchester United football which went for an amazing £160, raised over £500 in the Easter event.

Lynne Sutton from TCN said: “Raising money is becoming increasingly more difficult for all of the organisations within our local voluntary sector, and raising money that is not ring fenced to a specific project is even harder to find."

“The support which Margate FC has provided for the auction has been invaluable; it has been a pleasure to work with the people at the club.

“I hope we can work together in the future.”

Margate CEO said: “£507 is a great effort and I’m really pleased that we have been able to work with Thanet Community Networks.

“Our local community work is very important to us and it’s great that we have been able to get involved.”
