Leeds United in search for new owners

Fans of Leeds United through the Supporters' Trust (LUST) have confirmed that a proposed deal to buy the club, believed to be a Middle East based investor, had appeared to have collapsed after more than two months of negotiations.

While the period of exclusivity has ended the club statement goes on to say that Leeds United are happy to continue discussions with this investor on a non-exclusive basis, and LUST are encouraged that the opportunity is still there to conclude a deal that had reached an advanced stage.

A club statement said they welcomed new interest  after the period of exclusivity for the consortium ended as the club looks to raise cash by the sale of players. Robbie Rogers and Danny Pugh have both been added to the transfer list along with Billy Paynter, Paul Rachubka, Paul Connolly and Ramon Nunez.

Warnock told the club website:  "You have to look at what you can do. We're looking at forward players and it might be that we have to move one or two on."

LUST chairman Gary Cooper told BBC Radio Leeds at the time that he believed the deal was all but done for the Yorkshire side who finished 14th in the Championship last season,
