Celtic hand Arbroath financial life-line

Football News 24/7
When your average home gate is just 702 the prospect of a home cup replay with SPL Champions, Celtic, is bound to to be big news. In Saturday's Scottish FA Cup ties, Arbroath came away from Celtic Park with an unexpected 1-1 draw courtesy of a Steven Doris goal four minutes from time.  Celtic had taken a first-half lead through a comical own goal from Alex Keddie.

And whilst Neil Lennon made a lot of changes to the team which beat Hearts in midweek this was a big shock and no mistake. Lukasz Zaluska made his first appearance since the League Cup win against Raith Rovers while Rabiu Ibrahim and Joe Chalmers were handed their first starts.

The Red Lichties' Gayfield Park ground holds just over 6,000 and is sure to be packed to the rafters for the replay week after next.

The expected sell-out gate will more than double the number of fans through the turnstiles so far ALL season and will give the club a welcome cash boost.Especially if it attracts the TV cameras.
