According to the Sun a cash-strapped Greek football team has landed a sponsorship deal with two local brothels. Non-league side Voukefalas was on the verge of going out of business until madam Soula Alevridou came to the rescue with a financial bail-out.

Soula, who owns three knocking shops in the city of Larissa, has paid £800 to secure a deal with the team.

Players now wear a brand new bright pink kit emblazoned with the names of two of Soula's establishments - Villa Erotica and Soula's House of History.

And the 67-year-old madam is promising to pump another £8,000 into team coffers to help improve performances on the pitch.

Voukefalas' arrangement with Soula has already come under the scrutiny of local authorities - who have banned the team from playing games in the kit she provided them with and in effect have given the idea their own red light.

The team are consigned to training in the pink jerseys while Soula and Yiannis appeal the decision.

They're not the only Greek side looking for unusual sponsorship deals to stay afloat - as the the country battles with financial crisis.

Palaiopyrgos FC play home games in the town of Trikala in an all-black strip after signing a deal with a local funeral home.

Prostitution is legal in Greece, but regulated by the government.
