Football specialist Lindley Venue Catering has scored a goal with a ball of a different shape with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats ahead of the rugby league club's move to a new stadium in 2015.
Lindley will oversee the match-day and non-match-day services, previously managed in-house, with immediate effect as part of the Wildcats' efforts to develop its catering and hospitality business at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
The contract is reported to generate an annual turnover in excess of £400,000 at the 10,250-capacity ground, which is equipped with five function rooms that can accommodate 50-200 guests.
James Elston, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' chief executive, said the club had been looking at further opportunities to grow and develop the club. "We feel that the club could benefit from the experience and expertise of a specialist sports caterer," he added.
Jonathan Davies, Lindley's sales and marketing director, said new kiosks would be installed in time for the new season that would speed up service and sell the caterer's pies, hotdogs and burgers.
