After an eventful day of football the best sides in all leagues in England were left with varying levels of success .In the Premier League, Chelsea romped to a 4-2 victory over London rivals Tottenham, maintaining their lead at the top of English football.

Meanwhile Cardiff were comprehensively beaten away at Nottingham Forrest, meaning that they lost their place at the top of the Championship to Leicester, albeit only on goal difference.

Tranmere didn't fare any better in their clash against Bournemouth, losing by the same scoreline. Whilst they lost their status as the only unbeaten side in the league, they still remain at the summit of the league.

In the lowest tierof the football league, Gillingham made light work of Burton, slamming them 4-1, keeping their place in top spot.

With the leagues beginning to take shape, these results, though against the grain in some cases, will not have a massive effect come the end of the season.
