United injuries still a concern for Fergie

As Manchester United prepare to take on Wigan tomorrow, he could yet be without two of his big summer signings.

Both Robin Van Persie (pictured) and Shinji Kagawa, who made their moves to Old Trafford this summer, picked up knocks whilst playing for Holland and Japan respectively in last week's international break.

Though neither injuries are serious, there is doubt whether they will be fit to face the Latics, and add yet more bodies to the United injury pile.

Defensive duo Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, who both cost nearly 20 million each, have been long term injuries, whilst superstar striker Wayne is Rooney still out following a gashed leg that supposedly could have ended his career.

With his strike force depleted Ferguson will rely on the likes of Javier Hernandez and Daniel Sturridge to lead the front line against a Wigan side who could overtake United if they manage the unlikely feat of winning at Old Trafford.
