Supermarket giant Aldi has been named official club patron of Egerton Football Club through a local branch.
Aldi on Brook Stree in the town has signed a sponsorship deal to help the formation of the Egerton Sports Campus on Mereheath Lane, which continues to support the development of sport among five to 18 year-olds in the town.
As club patron, Aldi will become the official shirt and training kit sponsor for the girl’s and boy’s youth teams and the men’s first and reserve teams.
Significant support will also be provided to the club to help with fundraising initiatives which take place throughout the year, including the summer family fun day on June 30, where East Cheshire Hospice has been nominated as the designated charity.
The patronage will also help the newly-formed Egerton Sports Campus continue to provide a range of sporting and social activities for youngsters, including football, gymnastics, basketball, netball, badminton and kick boxing.
Tom O’Donnell, the chairman of Egerton Football Club, said the sponsorship deal would move the facility at Mereheath Lane forward.
“It will provide children in Knutsford with a range of football and other sporting opportunities over the next few years,” he said.
