Shrewsbury and Port Vale latest games to fall to weather

Football News 24/7
The bad weather across the North and Midlands has caused havoc with the sports fixtures.

Northern Ireland's World Cup qualifier with Russia at Windsor Park on Friday was postponed until 3.00 pm on Saturday because of heavy snowfall in Belfast. Authorities will try again today but there are doubts on saturday morning.

League One matches at Sheffield United and Shrewsbury and Oldham have also been called off as has Bradford City's League Two game against Bristol Rovers because of safety fears.

Port Vale's home game with Aldershot is the latest game to go because of snow in the Potteries as is the Burton v Wycombe match.

Football is not the only sports casualty - today's racing has been wiped out but fo the all-weather meeting at Sothwell and Friday nights's Super League game between Wakefield and Leeds was postponed until Sunday.
