Following the success of last year’s event, this year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better.
The four-day event, which started on Thursday evening and runs until Sunday, will feature more than 80 real ales and ciders, and a number of local bands have been lined up to provide live entertainment.
A football tournament, featuring teams of supporters from across the north of England , will also take place on Saturday (May 25) at Victory Park.
Chairman Ken Wright (pictured above) said: “Last year's event was a major triumph but we are confident we can top that this year.
“The lads at the Spinners in Cowling have managed to source beers from all over the north of England. For the first time, we’ve got wine and cheese too, so there’s something to suit all tastes.
“We also have plenty of entertainment lined up, including sets from local bands ‘Faster Than Bulls’ and ‘Shotgun Sunday’.”
The festival takes place from Thursday May 23 to Sunday May 26 at our Victory Park Social Club.
Tickets, which cost £5 and include a commemorative Thirsty Magpie Beer Festival glass, are available from the club and The Spinners Arms at Cowling, or you can pay on the door.
We are also offering sponsorship packages at £95 for a full barrel, or £50 for half a barrel..
