Preston North End expect sell-out crowd for Orient game

eNewsletter
The death of football and Preston legend Sir Tom Finney has prompted a surge of ticket sales ahead of the vital Championship game with Orient.

Supporters have already turned the Sir Tom Finney Splash statue into a shrine to Preston's favourite son. The club will hold a minutes silence before today's game which is expected to be a 20,000 plus sell-out as fans turn up to show their respect.

The players will wear black arm bands and Preston players will wear the Finney name on their shirts.

Fans at other grounds are also expected to show their appreciation for arguably England's best ever footballer with a minutes applause. This was the case ahead of the early kick-off in the FA Cup with Sunderland and Southampton fans applauding for a minute ahead of the televised tie.

Fans around the country are expected to follow this example.
