Premier League results with Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City amongst winners hits bookmakers hard

Football results in 2014 have been kind to punters and Saturday's coupon was another bad day for the bookies.

Of the eight Premier League fixtures played, all eight favourites won, with not a single draw to give the layers respite.

Title leaders Chelsea led the carnage with a 6-0 thumping of Arsenal, Liverpool put six past Cardiff City and Manchester City put five past bottom club, Fulham.

Elsewhere, of the top 20 favourites in Corals coupon, only Leicester City failed to deliver.

Some estimates suggest the bookmaking industry lost £25 million on the weekend 15/16 January when the results again favoured the punter. No figures are available yet for this weekend but industry sources suggest the damage could be just as heavy.

The eight fold of all winning favourites paid over 100/1 on most coupons, and Wayne Rooney was a big loser to score first for many layers as Manchester United beat West Ham 2-0. One of his goals, scored from the half-way line looks a contender for goal of the season.
