Sky Bet League 2 Wycombe need miracle to beat drop from Northampton Town and Bristol Rovers

eNewsletter
Wycombe Wanderers could be returning to Non League football after over 20 years as a Football League Club. It's only three years since a final day win over Southend saw the Chairboys promoted to League 1.

But, unless Wycombe can beat relegated Torquay on Saturday and hope that either Northampton Town and or Bristol Rovers lose, then Wycombe's football league tenure will be over.

They will be hoping former boss, Gary Waddock, now in charge at Oxford - who face Northampton can do his old team a favour.

Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"There will be a few people watching their phones or looking at their radios.

"It's a tough time but what a great end to the season we could have.

"I've spoken to Gary Waddock, but we speak as friends anyway. He's a top bloke.

"He will be wanting to win this game no matter what.

"I still call him gaffer. I know the man and he was the first man to ring me when I got this job."
