Blackburn Rovers have taken to Twitter to insist that manager Gary Bowyer has not been sacked, despite media reports.

The Sun Tweeted on Saturday that Bowyer was about to leave Ewood Park after they lost at Brighton.

After that defeat, rumours began to circulate  that the club had got rid of the 44-year-old after their slow start to the season, in which they are yet to win a game.

However, the club tweeted that there is no truth in the reports Tweeting:

'We would not normally comment on speculation, but reports this evening regarding our manager are totally untrue and without foundation.'
