Championship side Reading have announced a new sponsorship deal with Carabao, a Thailand-based drinks company.
Carabao, which specialises in energy drinks, currently operates almost exclusively in Asia and are looking to launch their range of products in the UK and help develop their brand across Europe.
It’s logo will feature on the front of Reading’s home shirts throughout the coming 2015/16 campaign.
Mr. Sathien Sethasit, Chairman of the Board, Carabao Group Public Company Limited said: “Thailand is the country where energy drinks originated and Carabao is the fastest growing brand of energy drink there.
“As well as being determined to become the market leader in Thailand and neighbouring countries, we have always hoped to introduce ourselves to the UK and EU markets.
“We are delighted to become a strategic sponsor of Reading Football Club. With our products and brand strength, together with Reading’s ambitious management team, we believe this will be a hugely successful partnership.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Reading Football Club’s fans for all the support from this point onwards.”
Adam Benson, Head of Commercial Sales at Reading, added: “We are delighted that a brand of Carabao’s stature have agreed to become our new home shirt sponsor.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with them in the months and years ahead.”
With the Carabao logo adorning the front of Royals' home shirts next season, the club will have a different sponsor on the front of the away shirts.
An announcement is expected shortly but getreading.co.uk understands it will be Thai Airways.
Last season’s main shirt sponsors, Waitrose, will continue to be an important partner going forward and it will soon be announced that they will have their logo on the back of the club’s shirts, as well as having hoardings around Madejski Stadium.
