Manchester United and Liverpool avoid each other in EFL Cup draw

North West Rivals Manchester United and Liverpool have avoided each other in the EFL Cup semi-final draw.

The draw has seen Manchester United drawn against relegation threatened Hull City with the first leg being held at Old Trafford and the return leg being at the KCOM Stadium. Elsewhere, Liverpool have been drawn against Southampton with the first leg at St Mary's and the return leg at Anfield.

Manchester United and Southampton progressed to the semi-final after beating West Ham and Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Liverpool and Hull City qualified for the semi-finals after beating Leeds United and Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

The first legs are scheduled to be played during the week commencing 9th January 2017 with the second legs scheduled for two weeks later during the week commencing 23rd January 2017.
