Manchester City have announced that Dsquared2 are the new official fashion partner of the club.
The deal, which will last for multiple years, will see the UK fashion label provide players and staff from Manchester City with exclusive travel uniforms for before matches, including clothing and footwear, for UEFA Champions League matches. A press release from the Manchester club said the travel outfits are ‘inspired by the club’s rich heritage; mixing Italian and English tailoring codes with modern touches’.
Fans will also be able to suit up like their favourite players when the items go on sale on Dsquared2‘s website. The financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.
“Dsquared2 and Manchester City share many important brand values,” said Damian Willoughby, senior vice president of partnerships for City Football Group. “We both believe in the importance of attention to detail, providing the best experience and constantly challenging ourselves to be at the top of our game.
“We are all looking forward to working with Dsquared2 over the coming seasons and we know the players are very excited to begin wearing their new matchday uniforms.”
The founders and designers of Dsquared2, Dan and Dean Caten, added: “We are honoured to be dressing the Manchester City team; we have designed a unique suit for the players and the staff, modern fit and elegant fabrics. Mr Guardiola and his team represent and embody Dsquared2 style and tailoring on sports.”
The first time that Manchester wore their new outfits was before last nights 4-0 loss away at Barcelona.
