The next stage of the planned expansion of Anfield is in doubt over fears of fans becoming unhappy with the possibility of increased ticket prices to fund the expansion.
Liverpool's Owner, John Henry said "I don't know if there is a next step because ticket prices are an issue in England. That may foreclose further expansion. We'll have to see."
Henry will be fully aware of the opinions of the Liverpool fans after they staged a walk out in February after it was announced that the club planned to charge £77 for some tickets in the new main stand. However, these plans were scrapped after the protest gained national recognition.
The next stage of the extension is planned to extend the Anfield Road end to increase its capacity by 5000 seats.
James McKenna from the Spirit of Shankly group has asked for John Henry to "clarify what he means".
