Luton Town fans have been urged by manager Nathan Jones to back plans for a new stadium that will be located in the heart of the town.
Double planning application has submitted to Luton Borough Council by 2020 Developments which Nathan Jones has asked fans to ensure that they have their say.
In an open letter to the council, Jones has urged the council to pass plans for a new 17,500Power Court Stadium, in addition to the development at Newlands Park on the edge of the town.
The planning application that has been submitted for Power Court is for a new football stadium with multi use facilities at the stadium such as; community and commercial uses, hotel accommodation, retail, a food store, and car and cycle parking.
The initial capacity of the stadium, which will be designed by AndArchitects, will be 17,500, with the potential to rise to 23,000 when the club grows.
The council has already received more than 1,200 representations from the public and Jones is urging fans to make their opinion heard with only two weeks left to make opinions heard.
Jones said "What we’re looking to do is take this club forward, now we want to take it forward on the pitch, but to do that it’s essential that we keep pace off the pitch."
Jones described the proposal as "wonderful" and believed the development "will not only take the football club forward but will take the whole area forward, Luton, Bedfordshire, everything. Now I came here because I saw that ambition"
