Markus Breglec has been appointed as the new Marketing Director, a brand new role at the club. The aim of the role is to develop and grow the club on a global scale.
Breglec has joined Liverpool following a senior position within HTC, a consumer electronics company. During the role, he led the company in a global sponsorship strategy. The award winning partnership was with the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
As part of his role, Breglec will create strategies to drive growth and inspire innovation within the club. One of the main focuses of the role will be on fan engagement, to help him with this Breglec will use his experiences across sports and consumer electronics.
Billy Hogan, Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer at Liverpool, said: “Marketing is a critical element of our commercial success and ultimately grows the club which enables us to support our on pitch ambitions. The primary focus for Markus will be to bring the club closer to our hundreds of millions of fans around the world. He has proven expertise which makes him a leader in his field and we’re delighted that he will be joining us.”
