Manchester United have announced that they have recorded record breaking quarterly revenues for the last 3 months of 2016.
A New TV deal for the Premier League has resulted in broadcast revenues rising by 40.8% in the three month period. Additionally, match day income grew 27%.
The total revenues were announced as £157.9m, an 18% increase on a year ago. As a result of the figures the club now expects to record revenues of £540m this year.
"The robustness of our business model continues to be reflected in our strong quarterly financial results and we remain on track to deliver record revenues for the year," said Ed Woodward, executive vice chairman.
The club recorded a £37.6m operating profit (up 15%) and a net operating profit of £69m (up 23%).
