eNewsletter

Aitor Karanka has been sacked as Middlesbrough manager after spending over 3 years at the club.

Karanka leaves the club without a win in their last 10 league matches and are currently 19th in the Premier League 3 points from safety.

Goalscoring has been a big problem for them this season and they are currently the lowest scorers in the Premier League with just 19 goals from 27 matches.

"This club will always hold a special place for me," said Karanka, 43.

"I'd like to thank Middlesbrough for a wonderful opportunity and the players, staff and all the people at the club who I have worked with."
