Thieves broke into Aston Villa star, Darren Bents home, taking the keys to a high-spec Range Rover and luxury Audi RS6.

Police have not released a value for the stolen vehicles, but, combined, they are believed to be worth around £200,000.

England international Bent, signed by Villa in 2011, is currently on loan with struggling championship side Brighton and Hove Albion.

Following a record-breaking move to the Midlands, Bent has made only one start for Villa this season before joining Brighton in November.

Bent joins a growing list of soccer superstars who have been targeted by criminals.

Everton and England defender Phil Jagielka was robbed at knifepoint in 2009, Peter Crouch has endured two break-ins and Stephen Gerrard’s home was raided while was leading Liverpool to victory in a Champions League match against Marseille.
