Blackpool announce new CEO as Alex Cowdy leaves

Alex Cowdy has left his role as CEO of Blackpool and been replaced by Sam Oyston. 

 
A club statement said "Blackpool Football Club announces that Alex Cowdy is to leave his position as Chief Executive.

Cowdy, who was appointed to the role of CEO in June 2016, after initially joining as Club Secretary three months earlier, will vacate his role with immediate effect.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Alex for his service and dedication to the role in his time at Bloomfield Road."

The new CEO will be Sam Oyston, a club statement said "Blackpool Football Club has appointed Sam Oyston as its new Chief Executive.

Oyston, who has been employed by the club for the past six-and-a-half years, has recently taken a more active role in the day-to-day running of the business and will oversee the club’s retail, ticketing, commercial and corporate operations, as well as continue to manage the Blackpool FC Hotel and Conference Centre.       

Interim Club Secretary Steve Edwards will be responsible for football admi­nis­tra­tion matters.
