Blackpool fans in massive protest as loss to Wigan means relegation looms
They lie two points behind local rivals Fleetwood Town with a game to play, with the Cod Army needing one point from their remaining two to condemn Blackpool, owing to a far superior goal difference.
Over 3,000 Blackpool fans snaked their way through the Fylde Coast to vent their fury at the owners, the Oystons family on a day coined ‘Judgement Day 2’.
It follows a mass demonstration this time last year when smoke bombs and flares were hurled at the Bloomfield Road entrance.
Scores of supporters up and down the country were also sporting ‘Oyston Out’ scarves to show their solidarity towards Blackpool’s plight. It is thought one is being worn at every Football League ground.
And the hostility towards Oyston will only intensify after pictures emerged of the family laughing in the face of fan ire and a humiliating reverse in a near-empty stadium. there were more Wigan fans than home supporters as latics celebrated their promotion.
