Bradford (Park Avenue) Put Up For Sale
Northern Premier League East side Bradford (Park Avenue)
have officially been put up for sale.
Bradford native Gareth Roberts, a Texas-based businessman,
has been in charge since December 2014, but he will be stepping down.
Roberts will assist with the change to new ownership, who he
hopes will “safeguard, develop, and build upon the progress made at the club”.
Avenue said in a club statement: “As we enter the new season
with a strong determination to achieve promotion, we recognise that continued
investment in the first-team squad and the recent appointments made to
strengthen the club’s financial position come at a significant cost.
“We have recruited new players and appointed talented
individuals to key roles throughout the club, and we begin the season with
considerable optimism and excitement for the future.
“Over recent years, Gareth has personally funded and
underwritten many of these costs.
“His commitment, dedication, and passion for the club have
been unwavering.
“However, his age, together with the increasing financial
demands of operating the club, requires careful consideration of the club’s
long-term future and ownership structure.
“Accordingly, Gareth is now fully focused on identifying
suitable new owners who can safeguard, develop, and build upon the progress
made at the club for many years to come.
“To that end, the club is being formally offered for sale.
“Gareth remains wholly committed to the club throughout this
process and is determined to help secure a bright and
The club added: “We believe this presents an exciting
opportunity for prospective owners to become part of the club’s ongoing
journey.
“With the foundations that have been put in place, the
strengthening of the football and financial operations, and the ambition that
exists throughout the club, there is significant potential for future growth
and success both on and off the pitch.
“Any proposed change of ownership will, where required, be
subject to the appropriate approvals from the relevant football authorities and
the local council.
“Serious expressions of interest in the acquisition of the
club through a straightforward share purchase would facilitate a relatively
simple transfer of ownership.
“In the meantime, the continued support of our supporters,
sponsors, and wider community remains greatly valued.
“We also welcome serious expressions of interest from
potential investors, whether through significant sponsorship opportunities or
the purchase of the club itself.
“Gareth will be pleased to assist in ensuring an orderly and
effective transition to new ownership and remains committed to supporting the
club as it enters this exciting new chapter.”
