Bury announce new Chief Executive
Bury have announced that they have appointed Karl Evans as the new Chief Executive.
Evans, who will officially start on Monday, 23rd January, has a wealth of experience having worked at Manchester United for 26 years. For the last 10 years he was the Director of Venue at Old Trafford. As part of this job he was responsible for many areas within the club such as Ticketing, Catering, Venue Development, Fan Experience and Hospitality Sales.
Karl Evans said: “I moved to Prestwich when I was 6 years old, I went to school there and lived in Whitfield until eight years ago-now I live in Rossendale, so this area of North Manchester is very special to me.”
He added “Bury FC were the first professional club I regularly watched in the 1970’s, I have a natural affection for the club and hence a deep passion for it to be successful. I have continued to attend when commitments have allowed over the years and my first ever footballing hero was Derek Spence.
The Chairman for Bury, Stewart Day, said: “I am delighted that Karl has come on board, with Bury Football Club, as we look to take the club into the next chapter of this journey and with the ambitions of what we have for the club to progress, Karl's experience will be invaluable to help get the vision of where we want to take the club too.”
