Cambridge United renew shirt sponsorship deal

Cambridge United have renewed their sponsorship deal with Mick George Ltd for a further three years.

The agreement means the construction supplier will remain as the shirt sponsor for Cambridge United until 2020 with its logo will continuing to be on the front of both the team’s home and away playing shirts at all age levels. The deal will also incorporate the club’s women’s team and new futsal team.

The deal extends a long-term partnership between the two parties, which was initially launched in 2013.

Jez George, chief executive of Cambridge United, said:  “This is the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the club's history and we are extremely proud to develop further our relationship with Mick George Ltd."

He added “Their support for Cambridge United over the years has extended beyond the financial sponsorship of our kit, as they share the same values that are vital to help the communities we work in. The enthusiasm and desire to find ways to be involved with the club, in any way possible, makes this a special partnership for Cambridge United. We really look forward to working with Mick George in the next three years and beyond.”

Jon Stump, finance director at Mick George, added:  “We have built a genuine and valued affinity with both the club and supporters since we became the front of shirt sponsor in 2013 and consider that we are seen as much a partner, and fellow fan, as opposed to just another corporate sponsor. We are proud to be the club’s front of shirt sponsor and hope that signing a three-year extension to the current deal reflects the fantastic relationship that has been built between the Mick George Group, Cambridge United FC and its supporters.”
