Capelli Sport Become the Official Apparel and Equipment Supplier for the Cosmos

Capelli Sport have announced a landmark partnership with the newly relaunched Cosmos, a professional soccer team set to join the USL League One. The historic announcement took place recently at the official press conference, which Capelli Sport representatives attended alongside club leadership and league executives.

The Cosmos return with a renewed vision, building on the legacy of one of American soccer’s most storied clubs in history — the original New York Cosmos, who rose to global prominence in the 1970s and 80s with legends like Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer, Giorgio Chinaglia and Carlos Alberto. Set to begin play in USL League One in 2026, the club will call historic Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, New Jersey home, with future expansion into professional women’s soccer in the near future.

The relaunch is being led by the Cosmos ownership team under North Jersey Pro Soccer, including Chairman and Co-Founder Baye Adofo-Wilson, Esq., AICP, CEO and Co-Founder Erik Stover, and Vice Chairman and head of soccer Giuseppe Rossi. The press conference also welcomed key public figures in celebration of this milestone, including the Governor of New Jersey Phil Murphy, Mayor of Paterson Andrew Sayegh, New Jersey Senator Benjie E. Wimberly, and other distinguished state and local leaders — all showing support for the club’s return and its positive impact on the community.
Under this multi-year deal, Capelli Sport becomes the Official Apparel and Equipment Supplier of the Cosmos, providing premium match kits, training gear, sideline apparel, and more to players, coaches, and staff.

Capelli Sport will be outfitting the team for their return to professional play, and while the debut of the club’s new kits is still to come, fans can expect a launch that pays tribute to the Cosmos legacy with a fresh, modern edge. The energy surrounding this partnership is already resonating with supporters, and excitement for what’s next—including the highly anticipated jersey drop—is only growing.

CEO of Cosmos, Erik Stover said:
“We’re very excited about this partnership with Capelli Sport. After a thorough process, we found that Capelli understood us the best and had a distinct plan for helping us grow the Cosmos on and off the field.”

CEO & Founder of Capelli Sport, George Altirs said:
“We’re proud to welcome Cosmos to the Capelli Sport family. Long before the modern growth of soccer in the U.S., the Cosmos inspired a generation of fans and players. To be part of their return to the professional stage is a tremendous honor, and we look forward to outfitting the next era of greatness at Hinchliffe Stadium.”
