Capital One Cup: Draw sees holders Manchester City face Sheffield Wednesday
The draw for the third round of the Capital One Cup was made on Wednesday evening. With another two Premier League sides in Aston Villa (lost to Orient at home) and QPR (lost at Burton) joining the four that were eliminated on Tuesday and only 14 made round three - including the clubs that only enter at this stage.
Ironically for a competition with a seeded draw in the first two rounds - no less than five all Premier League ties were drawn which means that at least half the last 16 will be non-Premier League sides.
Holders Manchester City and joint favourites Chelsea both got home draws against Championships sides in Sheffield Wednesday - winners in 1991 - and Bolton respectively.
MK Dons, who famously beat Manchester United were handed another home draw at Stadium MK - this time against 2013 finalists Bradford City who came from behind to beat Leeds. A result that puts more pressure on Leeds boss Dave Hockaday.
Liverpool also received a home draw and the third favourites play Middlesborough.
