Celtic beat Dundee United in League Cup final to land first part of possible treble

Celtic overcame Dundee United to lift the Scottish League Cup for the 15th time and earn the first leg of a potential domestic treble.

Kris Commons and James Forrest scored the goals that broke United's resolve in front of just over 49,000 fans at Hampden.

Ronny Deila's side were helped when United's captain Sean Dillon was red carded.

And with his team leading the Scottish Premiership and with a Scottish Cup quarter-final replay with Dundee United to come, Delia will hope to have his hands on more silverware by the end of the season.
